  23. There is no "official" GIF datatype, unless the Cloanto datatype in
  24. the Surfer distribution counts as one. The above datatype is simply
  25. the first GIF datatype that was available after OS 3.0 was released,
  26. and quite possibly the slowest of all the versions.
